Birthday panic and the cutest niece

Tomorrow is my birthday. I’m entering, what you can call, the late twenties. I’ll be 27 years old and I’m feeling the need to make some adjustments to my lifestyle.

Since moving to London, back to Glasgow and being in a relationship, I’ve piled on the pounds. After this weekend is over, the fitness regime begins with the fantastic Couch to 5K plan that I’ve found online, and I’m planning to track my progress as I go along.

Why am I waiting until the weekend is over? Well, if you couldn’t tell from the photo up there, I’m home for my birthday visiting nieces and family. They’ve all been very patient with me playing with my new toy (Canon) and hopefully they’ll let me take some more snaps over the next few days.

So, here’s to getting fit – new year’s resolutions are SO last year, panicing because you’re getting old is totally in right now.

Wooler Lodge, organised fun and faces of flour

Last weekend I headed up to Wooler Lodge with 50 musical theatre loving members of The Cecilian Society to take some time to rest, play some games and obviously use my camera to embarrass everyone with photos to last a lifetime!

I’d highly recommend Wooler lodge to any groups wanting to get away from it all. However, if the weather is anything like it was for us, make sure to wrap up warm or, alternatively, stay indoors with organised fun that sees you putting your wet head into a bowl of flour!

I’m leaving (leaving) on that midnight train to Glasgow…

Remember my post from a couple of weeks back, talking about how much I was going to embrace London and make the most of it? OH HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED.

I have decided, and can now finally announce, that I will be moving from London. I’m saying Toodleoo and packing my bags for the not-so-promised land, Glasgow. And you know what? I’m so happy I could cry. In fact, I have. HUGE, FAT TEARS OF JOY.

London is great if you have the time & money to go out and meet a lot of folk but, with my other half living in Glasgow, and money being spent on travelling the length of the country every weekend, I haven’t been able to have both a London life and a Glasgow life.

There are, obviously, some things that I am sad to leave behind. My flatmate of 5 years, Amy, being the main one and, of course, Penguin.

But, as I always say, change is good. Expect many a blog post from now on…I feel like this decision has held me back from a lot of posts, and now I have many a thing to look forward to.

Here’s to change.
